R'lyeh 2D

A project for level design classes that I created back at the university. We were given fragments from 3 stories and had to pick one to set the theme for our small game. I chose a description of R'lyeh from Call of Cthulhu.

It's a relatively short platformer in which you arrive at the R'lyeh-like island and find a huge, locked gate. This triggers an earthquake and uncovers 3 paths, which you have to take (in any order) to find gems that open the gate. There are also 5 optional, hidden coins.

To finish the game you will have to navigate in darkness, solve a mystery of endless corridor and climb a high mountain. The last part is rather frustrating due to crappy physics 😅
